Preparation before installation:
Plan the path: Determine the direction of the trunking, avoid water sources, heat sources, and locations that are susceptible to impact. Try to install along the corners of the wall, the edges of the ceiling, or behind the cabinet to maintain aesthetics.
Select specifications: Choose cable trays with sufficient space based on the number and diameter of cables, and it is recommended to leave about 40% of the space for heat dissipation and future expansion.
Preparation tools: PVC trunking cutter or steel saw, ruler, pencil, drill, screwdriver, level ruler.
Security check: Ensure that the power supply in the installation area is turned off.
Installation steps:
Positioning and marking: Use a pencil and a level to mark the installation reference line of the cable tray on the wall.
Cutting: Cut the groove bottom and cover plate according to the required length using a specialized cutter or steel saw (later deburred with a file).
Pre assembly: Pre assemble the groove bottom, accessories, and cover plate without fixing them, and check if they are straight and matched.
Fixed groove bottom:
For flat and sturdy walls (concrete, brick walls), drill holes on the back of the groove bottom, use an electric drill to drill holes in the wall, insert expansion pipes, and then fix them with screws.
For lightweight walls such as gypsum board, it is necessary to use airplane plugs or find keel fixation.
The spacing between fixed points is generally 30-50 centimeters, and fixed points need to be added at corners, joints, and both ends.
Laying cables: Place wires or cables neatly into the fixed groove bottom without excessive compression. Strong and weak wires should be separated into slots or use cable trays with partitions.
Installation accessories: Install corresponding accessories (elbows, tees, etc.) at corners and branches to ensure tight connections.
Cover the cover plate: Align the cover plate with the bottom edge of the groove, press it evenly with your palm, and hear a "click" sound to indicate that the buckle has been fastened. Install from one end to the other.
Install end and outlet: Install a head at the end of the online slot, and install an inlet box or use a cover plate opener at the location where the wires need to be led out.
Important precautions:
Separation of strong and weak electricity: Power lines (strong electricity) and data lines (weak electricity) should be laid in separate slots, or maintain a parallel distance of at least 20 centimeters, and cross vertically as much as possible.
Keep away from heat sources: Avoid approaching high heat sources such as radiators and boilers.
Continuous length: When the length of a straight line exceeds 6 meters, it is recommended to reserve expansion joints.
Grounding: The PVC trunking itself is non-conductive and does not require grounding. But the grounding (PE) of all live wires in the trunking must be reliably connected according to electrical specifications.
Compliance: Installation must comply with local electrical installation standards (such as GB 50303 in China, NEC in the United States, etc.).
