Event Background

In order to implement the "Breakthrough Year" of the group in 2023 and comprehensively improve the equipment status of water tanks and vacuum tanks, a series of problems such as water leakage, air leakage, dirty and poor quality of water tanks and vacuum tanks have been completely changed through the "Water Tank Campaign". In order to strengthen workshop equipment management, comprehensively improve the on-site environment of the water tank, and meet the requirements of lean on-site standardization, the overall management level of the workshop has been improved.

Activity time

This event lasts for two and a half months, from spring to summer, from April 15, 2023 to July 5, to summarize and commend. Each workshop must complete the layout of the water tank and vacuum box before April 14th, so that the lean department can make timely statistics. The company level joint inspection leading group conducted a thorough inspection before April 14th, and the acceptance inspection for the "Water Tank Battle" activity was conducted on June 28th and 30th.

Touch check

On April 13th, Anhui AD Jingke organized personnel to conduct a thorough inspection of the water tanks in each workshop according to the water tank battle plan. A total of 15 major issues with various types of water tanks have been identified. The purpose of this inspection is to enhance the atmosphere of the event, give it a good start, attract attention from various workshops, and more effectively carry out the water tank campaign.

2 Kickoff meeting

On April 18, 2023, under the witness of the lean team led by General Manager Zhang and Director Nie of the headquarters, the Anhui AD "Water Tank Battle" activity was officially launched.

3 Mobilization meeting

The meeting elaborated on the event time, content, organizational structure, evaluation criteria, precautions, etc., clarified the main tone of the event, and determined the direction of the event.

Workshop promotion

Each workshop will carry out a special inspection of the internal water tank of the workshop according to the requirements of the activity and the situation of the thorough inspection. A rectification team will be established to develop a rectification plan, with responsibilities assigned to individuals and implemented in place. Fully unleash employees' enthusiasm for participating in activities.

Sweat profusely

Due to the large workload, all management personnel and employees in the workshop fought together on the front line, launching a series of "human gray wars". The rise in summer temperatures has caused family members to sweat profusely during homework, with sweat droplets rolling down. Despite the cooling effect of the fan, it still has no effect. Especially for people in the power department, when welding is needed, there is a lot of fire and the temperature around them is rubbing and rising.

Throughout the entire "big battle" process, all cadres and employees in the workshop have always been fearless of hardship, fatigue, and dirt. After nearly a month of hard work, the cleaning of the workshop water tank has been carried out in an orderly and smooth manner, providing assurance for the normal operation of production. 

Fruitful

According to the self statistics of each workshop, the acceptance of 249 water tanks was completed in this activity, with 2285 improvements related to various types of water tanks. The water tank problems have been significantly improved, the on-site management of the workshop has been significantly improved, and employee participation has continued to rise. At the same time, it is inseparable from the strong support of the people in the power department that our improvement efficiency can be completed in a timely manner.

Mutual learning

Since the launch of the Water Tank Campaign, various workshops have been brainstorming and innovating. A large number of improvement highlights have emerged, in order to enable each workshop to learn from each other and complement each other's strengths.

On May 18, 2023, Anhui ERA Jingyi Office held a mutual learning on-site exchange meeting on the water tank battle. At each workshop, the workshop director provided a detailed introduction to the operation of the workshop water tank campaign, personally explaining the highlights and improvements of the workshop, as well as the plan for future activities. The on-site visitors discuss with each other and inquire about the principles and effects of improvement.

Mr. Shi will summarize the communication in each workshop and propose the following requirements: 1. Each workshop should reasonably arrange improvement plans based on their own situation and complete them on time and with good quality. 2. Learn from Brother Workshop's excellent improvement, open up ideas, and be brave in innovation. 3. To grasp the details, we should pay attention to both the "inner layer" and the "face". 4. The internal team PK of the workshop should be comprehensively planned and managed.

Achievement acceptance

On June 28th and 30th, 2023, General Manager Zhu, Administrative Vice President Zhang, and Production Vice President Shi personally led a team to conduct the acceptance of the "Water Tank Battle" activity.

On the afternoon of July 4th, the Lean Office organized a summary meeting for the "Water Tank Battle" special event. The meeting was reported by the Lean Office and various workshops to summarize the "Water Tank Battle".

Mr. Shi summarized this event with the words' difficult process, beautiful results' and refined the requirements for water tank management: 'visible, blocked, evenly sprayed, and quickly cooled'.

Mr. Zhu summarized on this "Water Tank Battle": clear division of labor, full participation, proactive, meticulous and comprehensive.

Specific requirements were put forward for subsequent work: to maintain results, innovate thinking, balance lean production, and learn from each other.
